Tree Farm Tradition

The Official Start to our holiday

Each year we drive 45 minutes out of the way to a special little tree farm (well, it's actually quite large) called Bob's Trees in Galway, NY. I think this is our 10th year doing so and it's always fun. We lucked out with a 58 degree day in Upstate NY - which is unheard of this time of year. Our traditional photos of getting the tree involve strong winds, snow blowing everywhere and all of us bundled to the point of being unrecognizable. But not this year ---- and it was perfect!

Photographed throughout the post are my children Evarista "Evey" and Carmen "CC", as well as my husband Carmen. You'll notice we are not all in one photo together but oh well, it's better than nothing. My daughter knows how to operate my big girl camera and does a pretty good job.

We planned ahead and all tried to coordinate our outfits so we could take some Christmas card photos - and it worked! Alleluia!!!

My little loves...smiling here....but that quickly came to an end as soon as they found out we had to hike back to the farm (no pre-cut trees for us this year).

The winning tree! Phew --- two hours of torture. We are horrible at making these decisions. But we ended up with a beauty! I'm bound and determined to start our own Christmas tree farm on our property (There's always next year!)
