The Top Posts from 2014 + Happy 1st Birthday!!!

PLUS...

I can't believe that an entire year has passed since the launching of my brain child blog. It seemed unlikely at the time that anyone would have an interest in my personal taste or home decor, let alone that it could turn into a business, or that I would have over 8,000 followers on Facebook. It seemed even more unlikely that I would meet several truly amazing bloggers that I would soon call friends or that I would be a pinner for Better Homes & Gardens. So many wonderful things have happened in this past year and I feel so blessed to have a creative outlet like The Unique Nest to turn to every day. I'm so excited to see what 2015 will bring!

When I first told friends and family about my plans to create a blog I remember lots of jokes and skepticism. Never the less there was something innate telling me to go for it and not to bother with what others thought. That holds true for many things in life right? A leap of faith can be a great thing --- and so it all began!

So THANK YOU to all of my followers, friends and family that continue to support this little dream of mine and who have helped me along the way to turn an idea into reality.

NOW, Here is a look at the top five most popular posts from 2014 --- Happy New Year everyone!!!

#3 - My "Unique" DIY Fence

A simple pattern and unique twist on a split-rail fence was a follower favorite and was truly the best project we tackled this year. No more escaping dogs (or children) and I couldn't have done it without my brother Anthony and husband Carmen xoxo

#4 - My Nest...

The first real tour of my home with professional photography by the amazing Amanda Vitti Photography - it was an intimate shooting and lots of fun. I was able to use several of these shots to build my business website and launch my interior design business Laura Leigh Designs.

#5 - Mini-Makeover: Four Kids, One Playroom

This is a special one for me because it was the first design work I ever did for someone other than myself.  Both the client and I loved how it turned out, but I remember being a nervous wreck the whole time. More important, my client Cheryl was a huge catalyst for me launching my design business and gave me the confidence I needed to believe in myself and just go for it! THANK YOU CHERYL!!! xoxo
