Old meets New {Vision Board}

Antique Furnishings mixed with New Pieces

I worked on a living room vision board this week that I'm loving. The super fun part about vision boards is that you're able to create your own inspirational graphic that can help steer you in a design direction without making an actual purchase or commitment. It's a great way to begin a project and see how pieces would work together.

In meeting with clients that are interested in changing up the look of their home, it seems that several individuals feel that everything needs to be "matchy-matchy".  While I'm a fan of monochromatic looks and understated elegance, I like to add a few pops of visual interest. I also like to think high/low when it comes to furnishings, the same way fashion experts think about apparel.

THE LOOK

While the couch seems to steal the show with it's burst of rust-hued color, the vintage french-country dressers add an element of elegance to the vision. The lamps, globe, couch and dressers are all from Chairish, who specialize in vintage and used furniture sales online. The bold black striped rug is from Wayfair and plays nicely against the accent pillows (also from Wayfair) and coffee table from Target. The accent chairs are from one of my favorite design teams Tilton Fenwick and can be found in their new furniture line available at Target stores. Oh - and I can't forget - the pretty little sunburst mirror is also a Wayfair find!

Using only three different stores, I was able to piece together a living room look that is timeless and elegant.  What do you think of mixing old and new? High and low? Would love to hear your thoughts...thanks for stopping by!!!
