Halloween Details in My Home

Halloween for many is an annoying day where pesky little kids come running around and terrorizing the neighborhood in search of more refined sugar than any human being should ever consume. For others, it's the holiday of all holidays --- and this is the case with my crazy family, ever since I can imagine. We aren't, and never have been, into all the Halloween gore. But we certainly love us some Practical Magic, Hocus Pocus, The Halloween that Almost Wasn't, Mr. Boogedy (and the list goes on). We are the adults that are probably more excited about Halloween then the kids (cue Michael Jackson's "Thriller").

I always remember decorating with my mom in the weeks leading up to All Hallows' Eve. It was so exciting to me then, and still is now, when I see the magic in my children's eyes that sparkles when they hang their home made tissue ghosts, and tape giant spiders and bats everywhere. To me - these are the memories I'll always cherish as a mother.

This year, we also bought some sticky decals from Michael's craft store and glued them to our ghost pumpkins, adding a little black & natural chevron burlap ribbon for extra drama!

Speaking of my daughter, how about this painting she did last year with my dear friend and AMAZING art teacher Liza Salmon? Pretty talented if I do say so myself for a then 6 year-old (of course I'm partial)...
