Christmas at Home - 2018 - The Unique Nest

The days are short and the air is brisk. Undeniably, the season of winter is closing in and the magical feeling of Christmas is upon us. In our home (and the home of so many), Christmas is an annual reminder of traditions and a celebration of all that is good in this world. Decorating our homes and spaces with lights and greenery instantly changes the emotional connection to any space.

Every year (since 2013) I have had the good fortune of sharing my home for the holidays with you -the reader. It's hard to believe that five years time has passed, but I am so blessed to continue my blog and appreciate all of you that have followed along on my journey. Each year our holiday traditions begin with a visit to Bob's Trees in Galway, NY. The annual journey to Bob's is vastly different from year to year. Some years we wear short sleeve shirts and sunglasses, and as you can see from the photo below, this year we had the quintessential Christmas card background when we arrived.

The Look

This year I decided on a traditional look. Green pinecone gift wrap from Target and black and white checker ribbon from Michael's set the main 'theme' for 2018. I used it throughout my home (both inside and out) and I always make sure to wrap my wall art and portraits in a pretty gift wrap tied in a bow. Easy and cheap!
