Winter Refreshers

adding warmth to the winter home with simple decor

After all of the holiday decorations are put away my home seems to feel bare and boring. So I take this opportunity each year to buy some new, yet inexpensive, pieces of decor that I can add around the home to breathe some new life into the new year.

I thought it would be fun to share some of the pieces I recently purchased with you and see how I decorate for the winter months. Simple and effortless are the themes for my winter decor. I selected neutral, timeless items that I could easily move around the house and use in various locations. Like these silver table top pieces that I purchased from Homegoods. They are really fun and I simply paired them with a new table runner and a white pitcher of fresh flowers. Simple and cheap.

I also found these white chair cushions on clearance at Target for $5/each, and replaced the worn out gray ones that I had.

Next - I filled these coastal looking glass and metal holders with rocks from our beach travels last summer and a new white Tommy Hilfiger pillow atop my bench nook and gave that a clean, fresh look.

In the kitchen I used a free printable from The Cake Blog and this adorable wooden stand from Target (sorry - can't find the link for this online) paired with some fun paper party straws and created a cute new look.

My favorite new purchase of all is this wire basket. I actually bought it for decor to use in the photos for my $60 Coffee Table Makeover and then discovered that I loved it over my range even more!

How about my awesome new pig? This Pottery Barn find is just too cute and also serves a purpose in the kitchen when the kids are scattered around the house and dinner is ready to be served. I had to have it!!!

I also spruced up my coffee station area with these fabulous mugs by Threshold for Target.

Added some really sweet details to my powder bath - like a simple piece of ribbon to a bar of soap in a vintage iron holder.

Downloaded and printed this free printable from Craftberry Bush and framed it in this brand frame. How excited was I when I found something with "nest" in it.....score!!!

A couple more details in the living room and that completes my home decor tour. I hope you like some of the simple and easy additions to my home. There's nothing heart stopping here, but these little additions really warmed my home and I wanted to share! Thanks for visiting!
