our newest adventure in the Adirondacks
Sometimes life gives you opportunities. It puts them right in your face and you can't even recall how they got there. Those opportunities may come with a bag of nerves and loads of uncertainty, but that's all part of the process. Over the summer we put an offer in on an adorable new construction cabin in the Adirondack mountains (near Lake Placid, NY). We had no idea what would happen and were so nervous. Within a few days we had made a deal and the concept of Juniper Hill Cabin was born.
For many years we have traveled, hiked, camped and enjoyed the magic of the Adirondacks. It's a place of balance, serenity and calm for us. Having traveled extensively I can, without hesitation, tell you it's my favorite place to vacation. The dream of owning our little slice of Adirondack heaven has existed for some time. You just never know when your dreams will come true. As much as we hope to often visit the cabin and enjoy life in the mountains, we have quite the hectic schedule in our hometown. So we decided we would rent this space out when we are not there and allow others to enjoy the cabin too. Interested? Rental information can be found here on Airbnb.
The Exterior
Although the cabin is new construction we did not have it built. Another family had it built and decided to sell (yey for us). The irony is that we absolutely love it, as if we had designed it ourselves! The shed style design with burnt red metal roofing stands out perfectly among the forest colors. The floor plan is smart and efficient. With only 630 square feet of space, it is imperative to use every nook and cranny wisely.

The Interior

We started the process of setting this up only ten days ago. We are not wasting any time as you can see! Next steps are building the bunk bed frame for the second bedroom, building a custom breakfast bar for the kitchen and then setting up some Adirondack chairs outside for a fire pit area. After that it will be detail decorating (i.e./ wall art, rugs, decor).
As the holiday season quickly approaches we hope to setup and enjoy the space through the new year. Beginning January 6, 2020 we will Airbnb the cabin out so others can enjoy it too.
