Happy Columbus Day friends! I'm not sure about you, but I'm thinking every weekend should be a three-day weekend! Nothing like a perfect fall day to recharge the batteries and soak up the colors of autumn.  I actually stepped out of {my nest} these past few days and drove through the countryside in many of my favorite upstate New York spots! Sometimes, in order to spark creativity and inspiration, you just need a time out from the hustle and bustle of life.
Now - on to the fun stuff. For the next six weeks I'll be a guest host for the Twirl and Take a Bow Party with some pretty amazing design bloggers. If you are in need of ideas for decor, crafts and cuisine, then you are in for a real treat!
Thanks for stopping by and have so much fun at the party!

My family is just returning from Fall Break! Do you guys have fall break in your school system like we do?
My family and I had a great time. I actually had to go to an Early Childhood Conference for 3 days and then we did a little traveling. We ended up going to Kentucky and stopped by Keeneland and the Woodford Reserve Bourbon distillery. Yes, we took the kids to the race tracks and a bourbon distillery for fall break. (who's shaking their heads?)
Surprisingly, both were very interesting and educational. We had a lot of fun learning about the culture of both the races and the bourbon and seeing the excitement and the passion people have for both.
Before we left for Fall Break we had our first ever family photos taken! Seriously, stop shaking your head! We've had plenty of non-professional family photos done but this is our first professional one. Take a look! Now On to the FEATURES!

I love some Hummus so I think that this recipe would be amazing to try. I am putting this Cajun Roasted Chick Peas recipe on my list of things to try.
I love an original pumpkin idea and I think this DIY Faux Fur covered pumpkin, nailed it!
I love these cute handmade coasters one rustic and one more feminine!  They seem pretty easy to make, too!
